Once they have cooled, the chocolatiers at Chocolates Zorraquino dip them in delectable dark chocolate. We find them addictive! The rich, dark chocolate is the first flavor you taste and it is almost immediately balanced by the vibrant, citrus notes of the orange. The first time we opened a carton of these sweet treats at the office they disappeared in minutes! Chocolates Zorraquino was founded in 1890 in the city of Zaragoza, and in 1902 their reputation had grown to the point that they were granted official supplier status to the royal family. The family business is now moving into its fourth generation and continues to focus on traditional confections and high standards. Zaragoza is located in Aragon, long famous for producing excellent fruit. Centuries ago a process was perfected to preserve the fruit by poaching it in sugar syrup. Thus was invented the famous Frutas de Aragon, preserved apples, cherries, pears, plums and, in this case, oranges!
